Saint
Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church is a vibrant
and dynamic Christian community in Southeast
Charlotte. We received our charter from His
Grace Bishop Alexios of Atlanta in August of
1998, and the Lord continues to bring us new
members who enhance our loving church family.
We invite you into our community and welcome
you to become a part of our parish family. We
look forward to getting to know you and for
you to know all of us.
Our Patron Saint
Our patron is Saint Nektarios of Aegina, the
Wonderworker. Saint Nektarios, a modern day
saint and one of the most widely known of Greek
Orthodox saints, was canonized in 1961, and
is buried in Aegina, Greece. October 18, 2002
is a milestone in the history of our young parish.
The relics of our beloved patron were brought
from Aegina, and are housed in a special reliquary
for veneration by Orthodox faithful from near
and far. This is a great honor for our community,
and with it comes an awesome responsibility.
Our Mission
Saint Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church is dedicated
to the continuation of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ’s ministry of salvation through
the proclamation and teaching of the Gospel;
through Baptism in the name of the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit; and through loving service
to God and to mankind. The Saint Nektarios community
welcomes and encourages everyone to participate
in the body of Christ through the Orthodox Church.
We feel blessed by your interest in our community.
We are a stewardship parish that thrives on
donations of time, talent and treasures. Our
entire operating budget is funded by pledges
received from the members of our parish. Each
member determines the level at which he/she
is able to give. There is no minimum stewardship
required in order to be a member; however, you
must sign a pledge card and be active in the
liturgical life of the community to vote.
Glory be to God!
