The Ladies Philoptochos Society of St. Nektarios holds several fundraisers annually. You can read more about specific events and supported causes below.

February / March

Apokriatiko Glendi - A fun family night—we have a DJ, enjoy a light dinner, and dance the night away.

April

Palm Sunday Luncheon is served directly after the Divine Liturgy. Proceeds go to Philoptochos charities

September

UNC Charlotte International Festival—we sell pastries, sponsor a cultural display and sometimes have dancers. This is a great one-day fundraiser for us!

November

Angel Tree of Giving—The Philoptochos organizes the Angel Tree of Giving for our community. The tree goes up and “angel” ornaments (for boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 14) go on the tree. Our parishioners shop for the children and gift wrap the items, then presents are taken to an urban outreach center located on Charlotte’s west side. Presents are distributed at the Outreach Revival Church “Saturday-Sunday School” program.

December

Christmas Brunch is held the first Saturday in December. Funds are donated to a charity selected by the Philoptochos.
